Orvis P. Bjerklie, 85, of Cherry, MN, passed away on September 4, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on July 18, 1940, to Clarence and Josie (Bergerson) Bjerklie and grew up on the family farm in Trail, MN.

Orvis was a proud member of Local 49 and worked as an Operating Engineer for 25 years. His love for hunting and fishing brought him much joy, a passion he often shared with his wife, children, and grandchildren. A longtime supporter of the Cherry Tigers Fastpitch, Orvis was a fixture at their games and deeply committed to his Cherry community. He married Delores Quam in 1962, and together they enjoyed 56 years of adventures, including camping, snowmobiling, ATV rides, and vacations to Alaska, Norway, and beyond.

Orvis is survived by his brother, Dale (Cindy) Bjerklie of Trail, MN; son, Darrell (Sheila) Bjerklie of Two Harbors, MN; daughter, Elaine (Mike) Florkowski of Goshen, NY; and grandchildren: Dana Lindberg of Duluth, MN; Denise (Chris) Schleifer of Norfolk, VA; Dorie Tronnes of Iron, MN; DeAnn (Issac) Erickson of Zim, MN; Devon (Anthony) Warner of Flaxville, MT; Jeff (Rachel Quinn) Florkowski of Harrington Park, NJ; Michael (Alenia Rios) Florkowski of New Orleans, LA; Miranda Florkowski of Encino, CA; Lisa (Kevin) Manson of Minneapolis, MN; Krysta (Michael) Green of St. Louis, MO; Ashley (Brandon) Lambe of Duluth, MN; Bill Dannis of San Diego, CA; and Amy Dannis of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous special friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores (Quam) Bjerklie; parents, Clarence and Josie (Bergerson) Bjerklie; and his sister, Joyce (Bjerklie), and her husband, Emil Strandberg.

Orvis was a man whose warmth, guidance, sense of humor, and unflinching honesty “telling it like it is” will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at Faith United Lutheran Church (8964 Hwy 37, Iron, MN).  On September 13, 2025, Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will be held at the Cherry Cemetery.
