Pearl Dolores Hawkings, age 98, of Iron, MN, died Monday June 30, 2025, at home.  She was born June 27, 1927, to Axel and Olga (Holm) Overland in Cromwell, MN.  She graduated from Cloquet High School and married Donald Henry Hawkings in 1948. 

Pearl was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, her hobby farm and was an animal lover.  She baked the most amazing homemade bread and buns.  She spent summers on Lake Nebagamon and Long Lake in Cotton.  She enjoyed swimming and did so until she was 91.  She was known as the neighborhood mom, was extremely positive and was strong in her faith. 

Pearl is survived by her children: Karen Flannigan of Eveleth, Doug Hawkings of Hoyt Lakes, Dan Hawkings of Eveleth, and Dennis Hawkings of Iron; grandchildren: Brian Flannigan (Fiancé Heather Springer), Shelly Flannigan, Jeremy (Alana) Hawkings, Kristopher Hawkings, Sean (Hannah) Hawkings, Deanna Ventrella, Joshua Hawkings, and Michael Hawkings; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; extended family and friends; and her canine companion Precious.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband: Donald; sons: James and David; grandson: Michael Flannigan; granddaughter: Kerry Long Nadon; and daughter-in law: Sharon Hawkings. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Virginia, MN.  Pastor Bradley Felix will officiate.  Inurnment will be at the Eagle Lake Cemetery in Cromwell.
