Rex Spencer Weatherstone

Rex Spencer Weatherstone, age 77, of Hoyt Lakes, MN passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

            Rex was born in Breckenridge, MN on April 17, 1946 to Spencer and Glendora Weatherstone.  He was a Rosholt High graduate of 1964 and went on to attend SDSU.  He retired as a foreman in construction, retiring in 2009.

            Rex enjoyed hunting, fishing, loved being on his side by side and wintering in AZ.  He was a loving, supportive and caring husband, father and grandfather who always had time to share stories and his knowledge.

            Rex is survived by his loving wife of 30 years: Lynn Weatherstone; sisters: Candyce (Philip) Glander of Wahpeton, ND, Phillis (Jim) Knudsen of Watertown, SD, and Lorelei Sturgis of Wahpeton, ND; brothers: Ralph (Melanie) Weatherstone of Spearfish, SD, and James (Collette) Weatherstone of Sisseton, SD; Children: Scott (Andrea) Weatherston of Kasson, MN, Rebecca (Travis) Roach of Foley, MN, Jason Ion of Henderson, NV, Nicole Davis of Cloquet, MN and Melissa (Jay) Himango of Nevis, MN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dog: Parker.

            He was preceded in death by his parents: Spencer and Glendora Weatherstone.

            The family would like to thank the nurses at Essentia Hibbing Infusion Center and Hospice for the loving and supportive care that was provided during his journey.

            A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Methodist Church, 513 Hampshire Dr., Hoyt Lakes, MN on Saturday July 22.  Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m until the 11:00 a.m. service. Pastor Mary Lou Sixberry will officiate.
