Richard Michael Wagner, age 78, died on Sunday April 12, 2026, in Tower, Minnesota. He was born on February 27, 1948, to George and Margaret (Wunderlich) Wagner in Winona, Minnesota. On April 10, 2010, he married Nancy Leavitt in Virginia, Minnesota.
Richard served as a restaurant manager and proud owner of Dick Wagner Cutlery Services. He had a passion for the great outdoors, finding joy in both hunting and fishing, activities that deeply connected him with nature and created lasting memories with family and friends. Though he may have left this world, Richard will always live on in our hearts and stories.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife: Nancy Wagner; Daughter: Danielle Lamppa; Grandchildren: Arik Lamppa, Abbi Lamppa and Jack Carlson; Brothers: Gerald (Lorraine) Wagner and George Wagner; In-Laws: Barbara Wagner, Margo Wagner, Kate Wagner, Evelyn Wagner, Barbara (Gordan) Hanson, Jim (Chris) Leavitt, Debbie (Mike) Bloss, Guy (Rita) Leavitt, Marilyn Leavitt, Steve (Vicky) Leavitt and Pam (David) Gobran.
Preceded in death by his parents; In-Laws: Orrin and Esther Leavitt; Brothers: Bill, Dave, Bob, and Jim Wagner.
In celebration of Richard’s incredible life, a gathering for family and friends will be held on May 16, 2026, 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Herb Lamppa Civic Center 402 Pine Street Tower, Mn.
