Ronald George Bocht, age 91, longtime resident of Chisholm, MN and Mission, TX, died Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. He was born April 19, 1934, in Hibbing, MN, the son of Sever George and Alvina Regina (Carlson) Bocht. He was a graduate of Hibbing High School. A Veteran of the US Army, Ron was stationed in Germany. Ron was united in marriage to LaMay Marjorie Crandall on June 29, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN.
Ron worked as a machinist for US Steel and later at Taconite Engineering until his retirement in 1998. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8510 in Hibbing. He took great pride in transporting his fellow Veterans to their various VA appointments across the state of MN. He was deeply devoted to his grandchildren, and his warmth extended to their friends who soon felt like his own. Ron was an avid bowler, golfer, and pool shark. He enjoyed rooting for the MN Twins, and playing cards.
Ron is survived by his sons: Bryan (Susan) Bocht of Duluth, MN, and Warren Bocht of Madison, WI; grandchildren: Jacob (Hannah) Bocht, Emily (Riley) Anderson, Rubee Bocht, Libby Bocht, Hayley Bocht, and Lindsey Bocht; great-grandchildren: Spencer, Charlotte, Theodora, and Penelope Bocht, and Colbie and Haizely Anderson; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: LaMay (2023); and daughter-in-law: Jennifer Bocht.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Celebration of Life Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. Greg Anderson will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor’s choice.
