Russell Allen Edman, age 97, a longtime resident of Babbitt died Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm. He was born December 27, 1926 in Hibbing, the son of Seth and Lillian (Taylor) Edman. Russell served aboard the USS McCall in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during WWII; and married Jane Higginbotham on August 28, 1948 in Hibbing. He was employed by Reserve Mining Company as a diesel mechanic. Russell was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, and the American Legion; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Russell is survived by his sons: Russell Edman, Jr. of Virginia and Bruce (Lynn) Edman of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren: Jeff (Christie) Edman, Katie (Matt) Hiti, and Ross (Brittani) Edman; Kyra, Brett, Adelyn, Camden, Townes, and Elliott; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Jane in 1997; and brothers: Donald, Richard, William, and Seth, Jr.
