Sandra Breckon Obituary

Sandra K, Breckon, age 84, lovingly called Sandy, Mom, and Grandma, passed away peacefully November 13, surrounded by family.  She is survived by her husband Don, to whom she was married 66 years, daughters Lori Hare (Paul), LeeAnne Rice (Tom), Lisa Jensen (David), and Lynanne “Wendy” Greer (Phillip); grandchildren Ray Hare, Josh Hare, Maddi Rice, Sammi Feldpausch (Trevor), Kyrstin Jensen, Andrew Jensen, Victoria Gaffney (David) and soon to be born great grandson Azaiah Gaffney.

Sandy was born in Port Huron, Michigan to her now deceased parents, Harold and Margaret Biehn.  She was employed by Household Finance, Fidelity Credit Corporation, General Telephone Company, and Mt Pleasant Public Schools, generally in financial or administrative assistant work.

Sandy was an active volunteer with PTAs and served in several leadership roles in her Community of Christ congregation.  She also served in leadership roles with the American Cancer Society and the Central Michigan Community Hospital Auxiliary. She greatly enjoyed being a docent at the Kansas City Zoo.  As the wife of a university president, she hosted many social events and assisted in fundraising and alumni work.
