Shirley Esther Hugger, age 84, lifelong resident of Hibbing, MN passed away Wednesday November 29, 2023 in her home with her family at her side. She was born the ninth child of Rome and Ellen (Sjoholm) Scofield. She graduated from Alango High School in 1957 and was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Shirley was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included decorating for the holidays, cooking, baking, berry picking, making jam, and feeding the birds.
Shirley is survived by her 4 children Jeffery Hugger (Rameen Farrokhi) of Palm Springs, CA, Janet Hugger (Karen Ziegelman) of Excelsior, MN, Mark (Renee) Hugger of Hibbing, MN and Scott (Angela) Hugger of New Port Richey, FL. Sisters Agnes Eddy and Irene Hardy of Hibbing, MN and Faye (Ralph) Schmidtke of New Hope, MN. Sister-in-laws Fran Scofield of Bear River, MN, Margaret Scofield of St Cloud, MN and Shirley Scofield of Hibbing, MN. Shirley had 7 Grandchildren Casandra, Baylee, Joslyn, Leyton and Jared Hugger, Madelyn and Elizabeth Riley; and 2 great grandchildren Oliver Brecto and Ellanore Riley along with numerous family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Rome and Ellen sister, Gladys Griffiths and 4 brothers, Raymond, Richard, Clarence, and Melvin Scofield.
Celebration of her life will be held at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, MN on Tuesday December 5, 2023 at noon with visitation beginning at 10am. The Reverend John Dietz will officiate. Interment will be Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing, MN
