Shirley Ann Scofield, age 89, lifelong resident of Hibbing, MN, died Monday, May 18, 2026, at Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation in Hibbing surrounded by her family. She was born April 21, 1937, in Hibbing, the daughter of Edward C. and Lucrecia P. (Hogan) Graham. She attended Hibbing High School. Shirley was united in marriage to Melvin E. Scofield on January 6, 1954, at the 1st Lutheran Church in Hibbing.
Shirley worked as a homemaker, and loved their farm home that she and Melvin built together. She was a member of 1st Lutheran Church in Hibbing. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking & baking, flower gardening, camping, fishing, and spending time at the cabin.
Shirley is survived by her children: Terry (Joanne) Scofield, Shelby (Debbie) Scofield, and Jody (Sharon) Scofield; sister: Joanne Zozgornik; brother Michael (Leah) Graham; grandchildren: LeAnne (Andy) Smith, Shelley (Josh) Stenson, Becky (Matt) Ender, Kindin Scofield, Wendy (Tim) Marolt, and Matt (Katie) Scofield; great-grandchildren: Carter, Zach, Paige, Brooke, John, Tyler, Mary, Allison, Anna, Vivian, and William; and numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Jack Graham; and husband: Melvin (in 2020).
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Reverend John Dietz will officiate. Interment will be in the Hibbing Park “Maple Hill” Cemetery. Casketbearers will be: Mark Hugger, Pat Scofield, Gregg Scofield, Ron Zozgornik, John Marolt, and Tyler Scofield.
Memorials are preferred to 1st Lutheran Church, or Fairview Hospice.
