Thomas “Tom” Allen Majkich passed away on March 27, 2026, at Fairview Range Medical Center, with his family by his side.
Tom was born on December 4, 1956, in Hibbing, Minnesota, to Arlene (Aho) Majkich and Mike Majkich. He attended Hibbing schools, graduating in 1975, and went on to study in the Electronics Program at Hibbing Technical School.
Tom was a partner/co-owner in the family business, Jack & Don’s, where he worked alongside his family for decades and took great pride in continuing its legacy. He also taught briefly in the Automotive Electronics Program at Hibbing Community College, something he truly enjoyed. In addition, Tom spent time helping at his uncle’s business, Delmo Novelty in Hibbing
Tom had many passions. He was talented in go-kart racing and enjoyed showcasing his truck at car shows. He was also a strong and loyal supporter of youth hockey and high school hockey in the community.
In recent years, due to health challenges, Tom resided at Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center. There, he became well known for his humor, kindness, and the joy he brought to staff, residents, and visitors. Tom always had a twinkle in his eye and a contagious, positive outlook on life.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, his pride and joy: Megan and Mollie; his granddaughter: Emma Klaire; and a granddaughter soon to arrive: Elsie Lee. He is also survived by his brothers: Michael (Darlene) Majkich and Steve (Colleen) Majkich; his sister: Shari (Greg) Brock; as well as many nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Mike and Arlene Majkich; his maternal grandparents: John and Helmi Aho; and his paternal grandparents: Samuel and Helen Majkich.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Guardian Angels staff for their wonderful care throughout the years.
A service for Tom will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:30 at Saint Michael’s Orthodox Church in Hibbing, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
