Timothy J. Dahl, age 45, of Canyon, MN, died Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Essentia Hospital in Virginia with family at his side.  He was born August 1, 1978, in Virginia, the son of Charles and Sharlyn (Sweet) Dahl.  He was a graduate of Mountain Iron-Buhl High School and went on to receive his BS from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Paper Science (Chemical) Engineering.

            Tim worked at ST Paper in Duluth as a Paper Science Process Manager.  He was instrumental in their conversion to make use of recycled paper.  Throughout his career he was able to travel to and work at many unique locations including Sweden, Germany, and Nova Scotia.  He loved spending time with his son, William and his family, and spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and more.  He was often seen wearing his signature red & black buffalo plaid flannel.

            Tim is survived by his son: William of Canyon and Virginia; mother: Sharlyn Dahl of Virginia; and brothers: Russell (Charissa) Dahl of Mt. Iron, and Stephen Dahl of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

            He was preceded in death by his father: Charles (2023); and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

            Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service Friday, October 27, 2023, at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church in Virginia.  The Reverend Amy Janssen will officiate.  The family encourages attendees to wear flannel shirts in honor of Tim.
